Brazilian Wax FAQ
Wax Queen 805 offers wax services to men and women!
What is a Brazilian Wax?
At Wax Queen, a Brazilian is defined by complete removal of hair from the bikini line, top, labia or scrotum and butt strip. I understand some people wish to leave hair on top. Clients can ask to leave a strip or triangle of hair on top if they would like.
Does a Brazilian Wax hurt?
I like to tell my first-time clients that a Brazilian is going to be uncomfortable the first time. As long as they follow aftercare recommendations and stick to a consistent wax routine, the waxes can get significantly easier.
How long does hair need to be to be waxed?
Hair needs to be at least 1/4 inch long. If switching from shaving to waxing, hair usually needs to grow for 3-4 weeks after shaving.
What are the benefits of wax vs shaving?
Brazilian wax appointments are every 4 weeks
With consistency hair can grow back finer and sparce which can result in less ingrowns
Results from wax can last weeks
Waxing can lead to smoother skin
Waxing provides a light exfoliation which can lead to brighter cleaner feeling skin
How can a client prepare for a wax?
Wax Queen’s pre-wax recommendations are:
Exfoliate skin 24 hours prior to wax ( no chemical exfoliant)
Avoid sun and spray tanning for 48 hours prior

Hair needs to be 1/4 inch in lenth minimum

Can a client shave between waxes?
Wax Queen doesn’t recommend shaving between waxes. Shaving can lead to delayed waxes, quicker and thicker hair regrowth. Shaving can also lead to irritation, itch and razor bumps! Don’t do it!
Can medication interfere with Brazilian Wax?
Yes! Certain medications and supplements can interfere or prevent a client from getting wax services. If you are using ANY medication or using any supplements consult your physician before booking a wax service. This includes but is not limited to: prescribed or not prescribed medication, topical facial serums or acne medication.
